This Week in Norwalk Little League May 14 - 20, 2017


Monday May 15: Brendan's 101 (8) - Bonaddio (5)

Jake Luthy, Deron Koppel and Clay Manley combined to pitch a solid game while striking out fourteen batters.  At the plate, Leo McCoy had two RBIs to help lead 101 to victory.


Tuesday May 16: Brendan's 101 (15) - Kiwanis (0)

Liam Bresnahan and Andrew Ehlers combined to throw a one-hitter and Brendan's 101 pounded out ten hits highlighted by a grand slam to center field by Clay Manley.  Deron Koppel and Luke Blazovic also chipped in with two hits each.


Thursday May 18: Signature Landscaping (7) - Kiwanis (2)

Strong pitching enabled Signature hold Kiwanis to just two runs as they won their second game of the season. Matt Scarpelli pitched well in his first start of the season. Signature took an early lead and thanks to the relief pitching of James Bergin, Seamus Herlihy and Mitch Hjelmar never gave up that lead. Outstanding defense backed up the pitching including a heads up play by Jake McDonald backing up first base.


Saturday May 20: Norwalk Linen (6) - Signature Landscaping (0)

William Singewald threw 6 inning of scoreless baseball and had 2 hits as Norwalk Linen defeated Signature Landscaping 6 - 0. Ben Welte also had a pair of hits. Robert Beddell blasted a 6th inning homer to straight away center.


Strong pitching from Francis Norris-Oliva was not enough for Signature to overcome several errors. Despite a first inning double from Tomas Norris-Oliva and 6th inning triple from Jack Kolman, Signature was unable to plate any runs against Singewald.


Saturday, May 20:Brendan's 101 (8) - Rowayton Market (4)


Clay Manley and Deron Koppel combined to pitch a one-hitter while striking out twelve batters.  At the plate, Ian Peterson and Deron each had key hits collecting two RBI apiece.  Nino Giordano had two nice plays in the field to lead a solid defensive effort by 101.
